It was recently reported that Professor Kazehiro Tateda, a member of the Japanese government’s Subcommittee on Novel Coronavirus Disease Control and former chairman of the Japanese Association for Infectious Diseases, was hospitalised for 2 weeks with Covid, even requiring mechanical ventilation for a while. As you can imagine, he has been a vocal advocate for the Covid vaccines in his regular media appearances. Here he is last year telling young people that the vaccines will protect not just them individually but also wider society including their parents and grandparents.
So I guess now he’s recovered, he’s going to tell us how he would have died if he hadn’t been vaccinated.
“Apparently, the truth is Professor Tateda has an allergy, so he wasn’t vaccinated .”
WHAT?! He conveniently forgot to mention THAT at any point in the last year. At the very least, he could have urged caution for people with similar allergies, like the time in 2020 when he discussed the potential for Covid vaccines causing antibody-dependent enhancement of disease (ADE).
A vaccine is anticipated, but vaccines must be developed that don’t easily cause ADE
Vaccines for SARS failed due to ADE.
Do you think this knowledge in any way affected his decision not to vaccinate? If you do, you’re very cynical. And I would hate to give the impression of cynicism.
