Japan gets ready to jab kids under 5

In June, the FDA gave Emergency Use Authorization to the Pfizer/BioNTech jabs for kids aged 6 to 23 months and 2 to 4 years old. Moderna’s under-5 jabs were also given an EUA. Mercifully, 95% of American parents have noticed there is no actual emergency justifying the use of these shots. And most parents that chose to pump one shot into their unfortunate offspring thankfully haven’t gone back to finish their kids off (Source).

So what is Pfizer going to do with all the under-5 jabs that Americans don’t want? The same thing it’s doing with the BA.1 jabs Americans don’t want: sending them to the Japanese!

On 2nd September, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) sent out a notice to the public health offices of Japan’s prefectures, cities, towns, villages, and special wards. This notice told them that that the MHLW’s expert panel is continuing to discuss whether to recommend approval of Pfizer’s Covid vaccines for under 5s, so they should make preparations to store and administer these jabs speedily upon approval. In other words, the approval is mere formality. The only question now is the timing.

Of course, the MHLW’s experts are said to be checking the vaccines’ safety and effectiveness. But the safety data from the randomised controlled trials (RCTs) looks exceptionally suspect, with suspiciously high rates of systemic reactions and adverse events in the placebo arm that are almost identical to those in the intervention arm.

As another Substack writer pointed out at the time, this doesn’t match the data from the RCTs in older children and adults.

I’d love to share longer-term safety data with you…but there isn’t any and never will be since the control group was unblinded and jabbed. Well, at least that matches the other RCTs.

As for vaccine effectiveness (VE) against infection, VE for 6-23 month olds was a statistically insignificant 14% if you count all cases after dose 1.

But if you start counting 7 days after dose 3, VE magically increases five-fold!

In terms of severe Covid, the severity rate was 3x higher in vaccinated 2-4-year olds (hit-tip Josh Stevenson for visualising the data). This isn’t exactly a reassuring result.

And the rates of severe Covid were so low in the control groups that even if the Pfizer jabs weren’t complete shit, they still wouldn’t be necessary.

To be honest, the main scientific value of the under-5 RCTs was the confirmation that the jabs increase the risk of reinfections: 11 out of 12 reinfections during the trial were in vaccinated kids.

This makes the Pfizer jabs a kind of reverse-baptism: they wash Original (Antigenic) Sin into children.

So how much demand will there be from Japanese parents? Well, demand for 5-11 year old jabs is still sluggish despite the government strengthening its recommendation and the media trying as hard as they can to convince parents of the jabs’ safety, effectiveness, and necessity.

So hopefully Japanese parents will be as sensible as their US counterparts and protect their little kids from the pharma monster.

It’s just a shame there’s nobody who can ween Japanese adults off the mRNA gene juice.
