Can I ask for my tax money back? I paid for something that obviously didn't work. The article also mentioned the annual GDP of Bolivia (38 billion USD), which is probably equal to the total annual expenditure the people of Japan have spent on masks. All this money spent on things that did not work. Just pay me 4 million yen per year. That's all I am asking to tell you the truth. Any takers?

I want my tax money back for something I didn’t even use…

I think you mean “many things” not “something.” You know you’ve lived in Japan too long when you can no longer use plural nouns correctly 😂.

If "things" includes people, then you are correct. These "things" don't work much, do they?

Thank you for collecting all this information. I've been wondering what's going on there and hadn't found a good source to get a glimpse.

Hopefully the price pain will encourage healthier policies.

Thanks. Yeah, as far as I know, I'm the only person writing anything informative on this subject in English. The foreign correspondents here just repeat the standard "Vaccines/Masks Banzai!" bullshit.

Yes, Japan has always managed to remain insular. Good protective strategy for many nice things about their culture. Hard to tap in when not living there.

In 2020 I replied to NSW Health that the PCR tests were not free. A lib looking woman and I engaged thus:

She: No. They are free.

Me: How are they free?

She: Well, we are not paying for them!

ROFL!
