Thinking about this, why would China invade or destroy japan, other than revenge for the Japanese occupation of China long ago (possible I suppose, but unlikely)? What does Japan have that China would want? A bunch of old people?
China has a maritime border dispute with Japan, but so do Taiwan and South Korea. Obviously, China is neither willing nor able to invade the Japanese mainland. Japan’s actions make sense when you think of it as America’s “unsinkable aircraft carrier”.
I agree this is just a political nonsense, and feel for JP travel/tourism operators. Although personally I have to say I don't mind the popular destinations here in Japan - to be free of the tourist hordes.

I don't have Joel's statistical chops, so I keep to simple absolute numbers. The number of all-cause deaths in Japan (and Australia, South Korea, Taiwan, etc.) increased in only small increments year-on-year up to 2021, which can be explained by population aging. The numbers then shot up in 2022, the Year of the Booster, which can't be explained by population aging. The only similarly anomalous year in Japan was 2011, year of the Great East Japan Earthquake.

When age standardised; the numbers of deaths are not increasing slightly, but decreasing. Excess deaths definitely went up in 2022, but by 0.0169% over 2018, relative to the population. My post is not to deny vaccine deaths, but to show that this is not a genocide, rather income generation.
Yes life expectancy fell recently, but only slightly and in 2021 was still 87.57 for women and 81.47 years old for men. That’s amazing! thanks for the link, I've added it to my post,

The only "evidence" it provides are quotes from Profs Nagao and Sano, who both published their findings months ago. Since then, Japan has approved jabs for kids aged 6 months to 4 years old, boosters for 5-11 year olds, and the mouse-tested Omicron boosters. The govt clearly doesn't give a shit about their findings, and it certainly didn't ask them to research adverse events.
